Echo Hill Chocolate Branding

Echo Hill Chocolates is a premium, artisan chocolate company specializing in fine and local foraged ingredients indigenous to the Pacific Northwest. Echo Hill Chocolates believes in honoring the true origins of chocolate and embracing the pleasure with loved ones. The typefaces of the brand were chosen to create a timeless elegance representing the quality of the bar. The minimalist design theory emphasizes the logo and draws attention to the brand’s sophistication. The tracked out type slows the reader down and lends appreciation for the bar they're holding in their hand.

COLLECTION OF illustrationS

Cheese Activity Book

The Beginner’s Guide to Cheese is an educational and interactive activity book. Foodies and amateur cheese lovers are the intended audience. The design objective was to create a book that was educational, relatable, and profitable, while remaining fun and interactive with the viewer. Hand sketching the illustrations invites the viewer to dive in with a pen and make their own remarks. Incorporating a typeface instead of all hand-lettering dignified the sophistication that an adult audience would find more relatable and appealing.

Franklin Gothic Type Specimen

This type specimen was intended to portray Franklin Gothic’s diverse and charming personality. The heavy and bold characteristics of the typeface lend a level of seriousness and importance, while simultaneously having a lighthearted and friendly association. The orange and purple color palette were chosen to play on the latter expression of the typeface. To portray the multifunctional characteristics of the typeface, I incorporated headlines with body copy. Multiple pages were included to add visual interest to the cohesive view of the book and to playfully interact with the viewer.

What the Flock
zoo event Campaign

What the Flock is a fictitious event campaign created for the experience of event branding. Catering to a diverse audience, What the Flock’s aesthetic invites younger children to engage while also entertaining the adult audience. Using bright pinks and bold typefaces, the campaign captures the viewer’s interest. While maintaining proficient design throughout the promotional material the viewer will have an appreciation for the design and planning that went into the exhibit. The youthful illustration of flamingos resonate with a large portion of the zoo audience. The title What the Flock adds an element of satire to engage with the adult audience. The use of black and white photographs removes the atheistic less away from the child and allows the parents to engage.

Indigo Trading Post

Being lovers of all things denim mixed with a serious case of wanderlust, Indigo Trading Post was established by Bri & Dylan, two adventurers living in Bend, OR. As motorcycle enthusiasts, they ride on their bikes to find denim around the Pacific Northwest. Knowing where the beloved denim comes from and hearing it’s story adds a certain charm to their products. After they find the denim they breathe life back into each piece by incorporating patches, darning, hemming, cutting, and waxing. The brand identity was designed to incorporate the level of craft, handwork, and hunting that goes into each piece of denim. The motorcycle displayed in the shape of a jean pocket encapsulates their brand image.

Cowspiracy Infographic

This infographic was created out passion and support for Cowspiracy. The concept was to illustrate the cow similar to how a butcher would describe its various cuts. Instead of labeling the cuts, each section highlights what animal agriculture is negatively contributing towards. The minimalistic red color scheme was chosen to emphasize the severity of the issue. The photographed background is representative of actual butcher’s paper.

From Cowspiracy Website:
Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged.

Arleta Triangle Project

This brand identity was created for a Brand Development class and was chosen as a finalist out of 25+ design students.  The Arleta Triangle Project rebrand was created for the Mt. Scott Arleta Triangle community space intersection. The houses represent the volunteers that are invested in Arleta’s existence while the white triangle represents the unity and connection that brings the neighborhood together. Because of the dangerous intersection, the mark needed to draw attention and slow drivers down in the neighborhood. The red geometric angles signify safety and caution. The modern and bold characteristics of the brand are indicative of Arleta’s grassroots heritage, strong & resilient personality and ability to unite the community.
